"My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Hanford House last week, and we can't say enough nice things about our stay. The owners were very nice, the room was immaculate and decorated so "homey", and the food was better than most of the restaurants we ate in on our 4 day trip. It was fun to talk to all of the guests at meal time, but we never felt pressured to do so. This was my first time to stay at a B&B, and my husband says that I will be spoiled for all others, as this was the best he had seen. We HIGHLY recommend the Hanford House, and if we ever get to go back to "Gold Country" we will most definitely stay there again." -TripAdvisor.com 10/06

"We hit the road for a one day road trip thinking we might stay at the Hotel Leger in Mokelumne Hill, but we couldn't find anyone at the hotel, although the doors were all open. So we went further north and found ourselves in Sutter Creek. We were going to check out the 3 bed and breakfasts in downtown, but only got as far as the Hanford House. Very nicely decorated, interesting dining room and nice breakfast service. Good value for the rates. Rooms to the back of the property are much quieter than those fronting Highway 49. Well located for walking the cute downtown. Looks like a bit of a revival is underway in Sutter Creek. We think this is grand!" -TripAdvisor.com 10/06

"For our honeymoon we stayed at the Hanford House B&B in the quaint, little town of Sutter Creek, California. We arrived just before dinnertime and the innkeeper had made a reservation for us at a nice local restaurant for our first dinner as a married couple. "The Hanford House Bed & Breakfast Inn in Sutter Creek, CA, is the nicest B & B that we have ever stayed in. Napa and Sonoma should take some lessons! The food was excellent and the rooms are beautiful, and the special attention to details was truly a delight. We were given the 'best' and it was something out of a decorator's magazine.
