Robert Gordon, and his wife, Athena Padilla-Gordon recently acquired the ivy-covered Hanford House Bed & Breakfast Inn in Sutter Creek.

The pair look forward to helping their guests relax and explore Amador County's popular wineries and other recreational attractions.

The couple – she worked with a construction management firm and her husband was a lawyer with a Sacramento estate planning firm – are relocating to Sutter Creek to run the 10-room Hanford.

The two met on a basketball court while grad students at the University of San Francisco. "We know how important it is to keep that initial spark of love alive!" says Athena. "We hope that the Hanford House experience will help our guests rekindle their love for one another."
